Brief Bio
Lisa Trapani Shumate is a seasoned media executive, educator, and leadership coach who has spent more than 25 years leading through disruption, transformation, and crisis — including Hurricane Harvey. As the founder and CEO of Maximum Q Leadership, she equips leaders to thrive under pressure by cultivating what she calls “Success Intelligence.” Lisa is coauthor of the college textbook You’ve Got This! The Real Skills You Need for Career Success, which has been taught to over 10,000 students in two countries. She has also served on national boards for PBS and the PBS Foundation, and taught leadership and career development at the University of Houston. Blending research-backed strategies with lived experience, Lisa believes coaching helps unearth clarity, build confidence and reveal a universal truth: our outlook is the single greatest predictor of our effectiveness, well-being, and happiness.
